SEO Phoenix: Google Caffeine Increases the Speed of Search Results

Monday, July 12th, 2010

On June 8, 2010 Google announced that Google Caffeine was officially live. With Caffeine, Google’s new search index, Google claims that the speed of search results will increase by up to 50 percent. Quicker search results and faster indexing benefit both the users and the operators of the Web site but there are a number of things that Phoenix SEO (search engine optimization) experts should take into account in regards to their optimization efforts in order to keep up with Caffeine’s quicker pace.

  • Caffeine’s emphasis on speed will make page load times a larger factor than before. Google will be putting increased weight on page load time and pages that take a few seconds longer to load will now be more penalized than in the past. This will not only affect SEO experts but will also affect pay-per-click experts as well. Due to the fact that page load time also has an impact on quality scores in Adwords there will be more weight added to this factor than before Caffeine was implemented.
  • Google Caffeine also increases the importance of real-time web results. Social media sites like Facebook and Twitter must be implemented in an SEO Phoenix strategy. These social media sites will help Google Caffeine index content faster and ultimately create a more relevant search landscape.
  • Quality content and keyword relevancy is also more important to Google Caffeine. Google has preached this for years but with Caffeine’s new speed creating a distributing high quality content is more important to achieving high search engine ranks.

Both users and operators of Google will benefit from Caffeine and it real-time results. However, Web site owners must make sure they can keep up with Caffeine’s increased pace.

Search Engine Optimization has Phoenix Businesses on Their Toes

Tuesday, June 1st, 2010

Search engine optimization, or SEO, has become one of the most cost effective Internet marketing strategies available.  Improving key elements of your Phoenix website can help you gain better rankings in search engines, which will result in higher volume, quality traffic.

What is Search Engine Optimization?
Search engine optimization is a process by which Phoenix marketers and web developers work together to create, develop or upgrade websites to make them attractive to search engines such as Google, Yahoo, MSN and ASK.  The goal of search engine optimization is to produce a consistently high-ranking site in the “organic” (also called “natural” or “algorithmic”) search results produced by search engines.

Search engines like Google, Yahoo and MSN use website crawlers (also called robots or spiders) to find pages that match their unique set of algorithmic values.  These values are defined by each individual search engine and can change at any time.  Search engine algorithms are one of the best-kept secrets in the industry.  No one knows for sure what is contained in the algorithms!  However, search engine optimization experts, like KEO Marketing, stay on top of algorithm changes that can affect your strategy and can help you achieve and maintain high rankings.

How Will Search Engine Optimization Help My Business?
When search engines come across your website, it should have all of the key algorithmic values for which they are searching.  We know that things like Page Rank, titles, meta data, on-page content and incoming links are important to search engines when they read your site.  And as these factors change, we will work with you to change and improve your website to take advantage of these new features.

Chances are, your web developer has designed and created a site that is attractive, easy for users to navigate and aesthetically appealing to those who see it.  However, we find that many times these sites don’t incorporate search engine optimization best practices and cannot be easily found in the search engines.

KEO Marketing provides customized search engine optimization Phoenix services to clients, catering to their unique business situations and environments.  Using your knowledge and our expertise, we are able to build an attractive, functional site or optimize an existing website to be easily navigated by both users and search engines.

Online Marketing: Search Engine Trends

Monday, March 22nd, 2010

The February 2010 comScore Search Engine Rankings report shows that Google still holds the number one spot for the share of searches, with over 65%. Yahoo! Sites are in a distant second with a 16.8% share of searches and Microsoft Sites are third with an 11.5% share of searches. This is a minimal percentage change from the January shares, with Google gaining 0.1%, Yahoo down 0.2% and Microsoft up 0.2%. This is important information for companies trying to correctly leverage their online marketing

According to another study released by BIA/Kelsey and ConStat on consumer behavior, 97% of consumers use online media when researching services and products in their local area. This study is an ongoing tracking study of consumers. It shows that among those surveyed 24% visit verticals, 42% use comparison shopping sites, 48% access IYPs and 90% use search engines. The study also indicates an increasing fragmentation of consumer focus, due to the number of research sources used for local shopping has risen to 7.9 from 6.5 in 2009 and 5.8 in 2008. Local businesses need no further evidence to convince themselves that online marketings important and must be utilized.
