			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Last week, Google began testing a new format to display sitelinks for several websites. This purpose of this change is to provide easier navigation for users when they search for a brand or product. Sitelinks are very useful for users and website owners alike, as they offer the option to navigate through the target website without even visiting it.</p>
<p>In the past, sitelinks have just been displayed as links under the main description, without a URL or summary associated with it. Now, though, the sitelinks are more robust. Check out this screenshot:</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>If you haven’t heard of <a href="../../../../../2011/04/search-engine-optimization-plus-one-1-google%E2%80%99s-latest-attempt-at-social-networking/">Google+</a> yet, where have you been? This social network has been growing at a rapid rate (over 10 million users in 1 week!) and is now over 20 million. Many are comparing it to Twitter and Facebook, but there’s one glaring benefit that doesn’t exist in either of those places: SEO.</p>
<p>Google+ is a great source for links. They’ve opted to allow links, whereas other networks have no-follow attributes. This could be part of a strategy that will allow Google+ to become a major player in social media.</p>
<p>Here are just a few of the potential areas that allow for link placement, which is crucial to SEO:</p>
<ul>
<li>Google+ posts – Similar to a tweet or a Facebook update, a Google+ post is where users can share what they’re thinking. Links found here are valuable links for SEO.</li>
<li>“About Me” section &#8211; The ‘About Me’ section of each user’s profile can include beneficial links, too. This may be of great advantage to brands and businesses who have subscribed for the opportunity to set up business pages on Google+. These links may even be of more value than those in Google+ posts.</li>
</ul>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>If you haven’t yet heard of Google Buzz, listen up! Google Buzz is the latest addition to one of the many tools offered by Google, and this one falls right into the social media category. Google Buzz is integrated into Google’s email service, Gmail.</p>
<p>Like many other social media sites, Buzz combines elements of Twitter, Facebook, and some others. But there are things unique to Buzz that create opportunities you should familiarize yourself with and take advantage of as soon as possible.</p>
<p><strong>1. Posting Content. </strong>Like Twitter, Buzz lets you post messages to a group of “followers” that subscribe to your updates. Messages, however, can be longer than those of Twitter (140 characters) and can include images and links.</p>
<p><strong>2. Engaging with People. </strong>If you use Gmail, there’s a good chance you already have built-in followers on Google Buzz. Once you start following some people, clicking the “Buzz” link from Gmail’s main navigation will let you see their most recent updates. You can comment on them, “like” them, or follow up with an email message.</p>
<p><strong>3. Collaborating.</strong> Buzz can be used both for broadcasting a message to your followers. You can Buzz anything – documents, articles, press releases – it’s instant, private collaboration.</p>
<p><strong>4. Marketing. </strong>Users can “check in” at business locations, notifying their followers of their whereabouts. Thus, encouraging customers to check in on Buzz can be a way to drive free word-of-mouth marketing for local businesses.</p>
<p><strong></strong><strong>5. Sharing.</strong> Just like Twitter and Facebook, Buzz has the potential to be a powerful medium for sharing content. You can use it to share blog posts, special deals, or interesting links related to your company.<strong></strong></p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>According to new web analytics research by <a href="http://blog.compete.com/2010/02/17/we%E2%80%99re-number-two-facebook-moves-up-one-big-spot-in-the-charts/?utm_source=feedburner&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Feed%3A+CompeteBlog+%28the+Compete+Blog%29">Compete</a>, Facebook is now the 2nd most popular website in the U.S., passing Yahoo with 133 million unique visitors in January.</p>
<p>Yahoo! was in the #1 spot for some time before losing out to Google in February 2008. Now it sits in 3rd place.</p>
<p>Facebook drew 133.6 million unique visitors in January, while Yahoo pulled in 132 million visitors. Google still leads the way with 147.8 million visitors, or nearly half the U.S. population.</p>
<p>Twitter is also on the up, according to separate research released by Venture Beat last week. The traffic increase has mainly been driven by Google, which recently started posting Twitter status updates in the new &#8220;real-time&#8221; search results.</p>
