Twitter Continues to Grow

A couple of months ago, we wrote a blog post about Twitter and how it can be used to help your business. Well, now it’s time to follow up with some interesting Twitter usage statistics recently published by Nielson. If you aren’t familiar with Nielson Media Research, they are one of (if not the #1) the most accurate and reliable online audience research firms.

So, what’s the main message of their research? Twitter.com is continuing to grow in both popularity and relevance in the eyes of consumers and corporations. In fact, unique visitors to Twitter increased 1382% year over year, from 475,000 in Feb ’08 to 7 million in Feb ’09. It is the fastest growing site in Member Communities for the month over Zimbio (240%) and Facebook (228%). Continue reading
